"Love Me Once more" is a hit vocal past English singer John Newman. The song was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United Kingdom where information technology was released on 30 June 2013 equally the lead single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The vocal was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced past Booker and Mike Spencer. The vocal was later featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.

Information technology was nominated for the Brit Laurels for British Single of the Year at the 2022 BRIT Awards[1] and nominated for the 2022 Ivor Novello Award for Best Vocal Musically and Lyrically.

Background [edit]

In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special most it in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote information technology with (Steve Booker), we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There's something adept here'. Just yous just never know how skilful it is, you know?".

Newman was also asked if information technology was difficult to write the lyrics about love and intermission-upward, he said, "No, it's the just place where I really open up to somebody, through my music. I'm producing [the album] and writing it, it'southward good. I similar to continue a concord of everything".[2]

With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the song is written in the key of G Dorian. The key signature is in D minor. Both are modes of F major, of which either i tin can be used as the tonic note/chord, because, all the same, the F major chord is non nowadays in the vocal.[three]

Music video [edit]

Ii music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, take been released for "Love Me Again". One version[4] directed past Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic beloved story of Romeo and Juliet.[v] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, carefully watched over by her blood brother, Tybalt, played past Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a bewilderment every bit they get run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-up unmarried "Cheating", which starts with a paper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hit-and-run blow.

"Dearest Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA xiv,[eight] giving it a cult status among FIFA fans, too as the Federation's #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA's archive during the COVID-xix pandemic. It besides appeared in the closing credits of the 2022 scientific discipline fiction film, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The song was besides featured on the American Television series, Suits in the episode, "Cached Secrets", which aired on half-dozen March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the offset episode of flavour iv, "One-Two-Three Go", which aired eleven June 2014. "Dear Me Again" is also a playable song in Merely Trip the light fantastic toe 2015.
